Another unexpected movie date.
We had it all properly planned out of watching twilight.We even settled on the timeslot.However when we arrived at cathay...The timeslot was different.it was at 4.25 when in actual fact on the website it was 5.& it was already 4.& we were dead hungry.So its either we skip lunch and catch the movie,or pick another movie.We didnt want to upset our tummy.So we pick another movie.
& i thought The Secret Life Of Bees sounds nice.Since the cast(Queen Latifah,Dakota,Alicia Keys...) playing were all pretty good.So we settled on the movie.
This is a adaption Sue Monk Kidd's novel which a girl name Lily,the role Dakota plays,discovering about her mother's past.The movie is set in the Civil Rights era,pretty much the black and white television period.& there was display of discrimination of the blacks,getting beaten up...& honestly if you ask me,where did the bees come from.Actually they play a really small part in the movie.Its just because she stayed in a place which cultivates honey.And she start picking skills of cultivating it.I think they should change the title to The secret Life Of Lily instead.HAH.But Its pretty much of a bittersweet heartwarming movie.i think its better to read the novel before catching the movie.By then,will you understand the movie deeper.
And so,im heading to the store to grab this novel.Just too bad,im doing the reverse:D
& Im pretty proud of myself.I'hv read 3 books ever since o's end.For a person who hardly read,thats an achievement.grins*
